GLASS WARE

Glassware, also refered to as Stemware can enhance both the flavor and bouquet of a Wine. There are four basic styles of Glassware.

A good all purpose glass can be used for both Red and White Wines. It should have a bowl shape ample enough to allow the Wine to be swirled about. The bowl should be narrow at the rim. This allows the aromas to flow upward. The stem should be long enough so that your hand does not touch the bowl and warm the Wine.

Sparkling Wines are best served in a fluted Stemmed Glass with a tall slender tulip bulb shape. The narrow Glass provides less surface area in which the bubbles can escape.

Shape Matters! Wine glasses are composed of three parts: the bowl, stem, and foot. The size of the bowl determines how much the wine can breathe. The stems control the temperature of the wine. The rim of the glass controls how the aroma reaches your nose.
